It’s impossible to
predict without today’s computer simulations what the technology would have
been in the future thousands of years ago, but God could see all things. Prophecy has been demonstrated before to
prove that God has all knowledge being outside of time. Even in the 1930s people could barely imagine
the technology that we have today but John in Revelation prophesies that
"those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead
bodies three and a half days" (Revelation 11:9).
How could the whole
world see the bodies of the two witnesses? Not many years ago it was impossible
to fulfill that prophecy but it's possible today through satellite transmission
technology.
Jesus said some
things about End Times as well: "And
you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for
all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall
rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines,
pestilences, and earthquakes in various places." (Matthew 24:6-7).
And have wars been
on the decrease? Despite all the good
intentions of man to generate peace we seem to be getting further from the goal
than closer to it. There have been
rumors of wars all the time in politically unstable countries in the Middle
East and now crises in Asia and North Korea.
In the Bible the word nation is from the Greek word ethnos from where we get our English word ethnic. Many of
the wars in the last century have been tribal conflicts and one ethnic group fighting
against another ethnic group.
Famines still
occur. In fact many marvel with the
amount of money some of the world’s richest have why we still have starving
people around the world. The heart of
man is so wicked though that these overly rich people will not give up what
they have to benefit mankind. They may
donate a few thousand dollars here and there but it is not enough to stop the
world’s famine. We know there is not a
food shortage worldwide, but many countries waste food.
Then there are plagues (pestilences) like the
locust one in parts of Africa in 2004 and Madagascar this year (2013).
Fears that plague bacteria possibly could be used for bio-terrorism in the future are justified as bacteria has caused plagues
in Congo, Africa, The United States, China, India, Vietnam, and Mongolia in
recent decades.
Earthquakes used to
be something so rare, occurring only in certain parts of the world but now
they’re arising in places they haven’t before, and in greater numbers than
before [as explained here].
Jesus also
said: "At that time many will turn
away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false
prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase in
wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the
kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and
then the end will come." (Matthew 24:10-14).
False teachers are
all around the place, and I believe some even appear on Christian
television. The reason for the multitude
of Christian denominations in the West today are due to false teachers! People would try to get back to the truth of
the gospel and a new denomination would be born only to get false teachers come
in again. As for false prophets there
have been David Koresh, Martin Applewhite, Jim Jones and even a guy in
Kingaroy, Australia who is duping people into believing he is the reincarnated
Jesus.
As for love growing
cold and wickedness. Isn’t it
obvious? 20 years ago you could take a
taxi and feel safe. Nowdays we have
violence towards drivers, violence towards passengers. The threat of rape is around every corner
(more likely) if you are a woman. The
internet has made child exploitation easier and more accessible. Prisons are overflowing. And families can even be cold toward one
another. It’s all going exactly the way
it was predicted.
It was revealed to
Daniel by God: “But thou, O Daniel, shut
up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to
and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
(Daniel 12:4)
And if there ever
has been a time where knowledge has increased it is now. It is not smarter people that have brought us
technology like the internet and satellites.
It has been the increase of knowledge!
Therefore we are compiling more knowledge each generation from the
generations before us. Also, travel has
never been so accessible than it is now and more and more people are traveling
“to and fro” as described.
Not only is there
all this but Israel becoming a nation
in 1948 was a fulfillment of end times Bible prophecy, it’s been promised many
times in the word of God: “I, the Sovereign Lord, will gather you back
from the nations where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of
Israel once again.” (Ezekiel 11:17).
It’s clear to see that there is something to this end time prophecy stuff
that is unique to the Bible. When the
remake of the Left Behind movie comes out keep in mind that the evidence of
prophecy coming true is all around us – on the news each night! It is truly amazing to see things coming to
pass that have been foretold long ago and an amazing testimony to the God who
is outside of all time.
